The “Find Your Perfect Plant Match” infographic was designed in order to inform audiences about and raise awareness on a topic of interest, in this case, houseplants. The infographic had to consist of at least five layers of information and utilize graphics, illustrations, and/or photographs to assist in visualizing the topic.

The infographic includes information on the plants’ names, illustrations of what they look like, a short description of their benefits, their level of maintenance, how pet-friendly they are, where to keep them, and the temperature, amount of sun, and amount of water they require. Alongside the facts about maintenance, pet-friendliness, sunlight, water, temperature, and location, icons were used to assist in portraying what the information was about.

Considering color and type choices, green and serif fonts were chosen to match the naturalistic palette of plant life and display the titles and main descriptive copy as intelligent, serious, and nurturing. Each plant category was also separated into its own box within a three by two grid to place all of the information in an organized and easy-to-understand fashion. It enables viewers to efficiently answer any questions they may have about the plants or make decisions about any one of the plants they are interested in as quickly as possible.
