The birth control patch, Flexipatch, was created as a contraceptive product that met the needs of two different target markets. The Flexipatch, in general, is a modern, discreet, and flexible contraceptive patch that can be worn for a month at a time. It can be worn in four different locations on the body for heightened comfort, and it comes in a variety of skin tones for inclusivity. It was designed to be sold as a prescription, recommended by one’s doctor.
The smaller, sliding package is a trial patch meant for first-time or changing birth control users wanting to try something out before fully committing. The small-scale size and neutral feminine color make it appeal to a variety of ages while being easy to carry and access. The larger vertical package was designed for teens and women with more experience. It comes as a box of 12 to last a full year, and its vertical composition and brighter colors correspond with other products this audience would also be using.
The flower imagery also connects with other feminine products, making it recognizable for the target audience, and the inside packaging functions similar to a peelable band-aid to make the application quick and simple.
