"Oh Deer!" 𐂂

The β€œOh Deer!” Interpretative Sign was designed for the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park as they requested an infographic that raised awareness and explained the differences between the three deer species that have habitats at the zoo. Those species include elk, white-tailed deer, and moose.

Each species has eight layers of information associated with it: the species’ photo, name, diet, top speed, average weight, footprint shape and size, female versus male vocabulary, and North American regionality. Various icons were designed to assist in visualizing specific information, including the diet, vocabulary, footprint, and map, and copy was included to describe further information that was not self-explanatory by images or icons alone.

The poster was created to draw in the zoo’s largest visitor demographics: families with young children and teens, friend groups, and school groups. Fonts and colors used had to correspond with the NEW Zoo’s brand standards. The final poster was 24 x 36 inches and hung on a pillar located by the deer habitats.
