ButterBar 〰️
ButterBar is a hygiene product designed with inspiration from one of the seven deadly sins: gluttony. Gluttony is often associated with overeating, indulgence, excess, fat, and messiness. Essentially, it is the opposite of hygiene and cleanliness. However, ButterBar is the hygiene product that influences gluttonous people to want to clean up.
The soap bars are designed to appear as four sticks of butter inside of a butter package. Butter, being one of the most fattening foods, is guaranteed to grab a gluttonous individual’s attention. By using imagery and iconography that is symbolic of pre-existing butter packaging, it reminds gluttonous people of the food they love while washing up.
Fonts and colors were chosen to resemble butter products already on the market in order to make someone believe in the soap’s correlation. The logo design was created to look like a sudsy bar of butter on a platter with its bubble imagery repeated on various sides of the box. The inner packaging for the soap bars also corresponds to the food with the logo type, logo mark, and eight sections on the different sides. The eight sections resemble the tablespoon markings on traditional butter packaging as well.
